Party Tips and Advice for Hiring a Belly dancer
Think about your particular crowd
Will their be people who will want to get up and learn a few steps or
would they rather just watch and enjoy the dancers. We can do either.
Are their children at the party?
if so kids love to dress up dance and make a lot of noise. Lorelie can bring a drum, tambourine and zills to the event for
the kids as well as canes, veils and coin hips scarves.
Is their a place that can be cleared that is relativley
flat and safe to dance? It's very difficult to dance well on grass, pavement, sand or rocks. Although it's
been done, its very distracting to the dancer, and sometimes even dangerous.
Is there a good stereo system
available? A boom box doesnt usually sound so hot at a party, The dancer needs to hear and feel the music,
and the crowd will appreciate it more too. If the party is outdoors try to have some speakers hooked up outside
where the dancers will be performing.
How much Experience does the Dancer have? Find
out how much experience a dancer has before hiring her, It takes years of performing to develop the skills needed to perform
well and deal with a crowd of people in a relaxed way.
Are there Pictures or Video of the dancer
that you can watch before hiring her? Ask to see past performances. The dancer you are thinking of hiring may
have a different view point, or wear costumes that are too revealing for your particular party. See
Video Below of Lorelie dancing at an 80th Birthday Party.
Beware of the Belly Floppers!
Pretty much anyone can call themselves a bellydancer. It would be embarrassing to have one of them show up at your party.
